Voluntary Work - Sport
Here are a range of charities, trusts and organisation who rely on volunteers to continue their work. If you can’t find anything that floats your boat here try looking at www.volunteering.org.uk or www.do-it.org.uk which has a great searchable database to find what you want where you want it.

One of the easiest ways of becoming a sports volunteer is to contact your local sports group or sports centre and offer your time. Here are some other organisations that may interest you too:

Disability Sport Events:
Disability Sport Events (DSE) create participation opportunities for disabled people with all impairments. We provide events in various sports which allow athletes to follow the pathways to international success.
Volunteers are the lifeblood of their organisation. Without them, their events would not run and qualification into our national events would be more difficult. Through forums volunteers also organise some regional competitions. Through these competitions disabled people can qualify for National Championships.

Lifesavers (Institute of Qualified Lifeguards, IQL):
They are the governing body and leading provider of training and education in lifesaving, lifeguarding, water safety and life support skills in the UK.   Their mission is ‘To inform and educate everyone in watersafety and resuscitation and to increase progressively the number of people trained in water rescue.’
Each year over 10,000 volunteers train approximately 1 million people in water safety, rescue techniques and life support, including 95% of all pool and beach lifeguards.

Sports Leaders:
They create and award courses and qualifications in sports leadership. They believe that everybody has the potential to make a meaningful contribution to their local community, but not everyone has the opportunity or motivation.
Over six million volunteers give one billion hours to sport every year. These coaches, officials, mini-bus drivers, match secretaries, umpires, treasurers, stewards and countless other helpers sustain over 100,000 affiliated clubs with over eight million members. See how you can be part of this:

Timebank:
TimeBank, the national volunteering charity, has recently launched Be A Sport: a campaign to encourage more people to get involved in sport by volunteering. In the UK, there are over one and a half million sporting volunteers working across a diverse range of opportunities, at different levels. See how you can get involved:
