Want to get away from the rainy UK summers but not sure what you can do? Have a look below for some ideas of the types of jobs around or just have a scan through the summer jobs available now.
Activity Instructor:
Full-on fitness and energy needed here! You could be working at an outdoor activity centre helping with rock-climbing and kayaking during the day and talent shows and discos at night. It goes without saying that you need to be pretty sociable for this type of job and any experience or qualifications are going to help your chances of getting the job.
Holiday Rep:
This job could take you to many far flung, sunny places which sounds like a dream! There's a lot of hard work involved too though. This could include meeting new holiday makers and being their main point of contact and help during their holiday. You could also be organising or leading tours, helping out on reception or with other admin duties and even helping with the cleaning.
Kids Club Assistant / Children's Courier:
It goes without saying that previous experience of working with kids will help here. You will be responsible for looking after children and making sure there are lots of fun activities for them to do. As with the holiday rep jobs there could be lots of other little jobs you'd be expected to pitch in and help with too.
Driver:
If you don't have the energy for running round after children or chatting to guests all day then a job as a driver could be right up yout street. The driving could be around the resort doing pick-ups and deliveries or could be airport transfers. Previous experience and a full, clean driving licence will help get this job.
Entertainers (Animators):
This job could invlove some of of the same work as a kids club assistant, ie entertaining the children, but is literally all singing and dancing too! You will be responsible for providing entertainment to the guests and could also be expected to promote the events too. Good singing voice and/or dancing feet are a must.
Cooks / Kitchen Staff:
We all need to eat so holiday companies will always need cooks. If you don't have any experience or qualification as a cook you could always look for a job in the kitchen as a porter or washing up dude.
Waiting and Cleaning Staff:
There are lots of tables to be waited on and lots of rooms to be cleaned in the big wide world of holidays. This could be a good place to start if you don't have the experience that may be needed for some of the other jobs.
